Schmartin | I made this icon-like illustration for my friend’s birthday. Really like the style … usually grumpy Martin with cute sugar face!

Notebook THOUGHTS ARE FREE | “Die Gedanken sind frei” (Thoughts are free) is a german song from 1820 that is about the freedom of thoughts. I used the song’s title and the first verse for the design of some notebooks that I prepared as christmas presents.
This is the English translation:
Thoughts are free, who can guess them?
They flee by like nocturnal shadows.
No man can know them, no hunter can shoot them
It remains: Thoughts are free!

I love these weekends | A good movie, blankets to hide, a warm cup of coffee and someone special to spend the time with. I really, really love these rainy weekends.

Sugar Plum Fairy | I drew this picture after a 3 hour walk through the woods. It was a very relaxing afternoon with my friends, nature and a lot of fresh air. So I decided to finish the day with some drawing.

Queen Freedom | A very good friend asked me to draw this artwork for her first appointment with her tattoo artist. It’s kind of a basis for discussion. Martin, the tattoo artist, has a great style and I am very exited how his interpretation will look like.

Daily Basics | My little collection of things that I carry around in my bag. Nothing special. Got inspired by a series on the blog iGNANT → Daily Basics
SCHNITT #66 | These are illustrations for the Schnitt Filmmagazin #66 . The issue’s theme was film making in a digitized industry – digitalization, crowdfunding and non-linear story lines.
Moustache Owl | Yep, an owl with a moustache. Very hipster. I don’t even know how this idea came up. But it’s always fun to draw this little bird. More owls with trendy facial hair you can find here.

Heroes | These guys were inspired by the best game on the SNES ever – Secret of Mana. I love the heroes, the villians, the music… everything. As a kid and still now. So I wanted to create my own Mana crew.
We have Ragnagardis, an old, blind woman, seeing through her cat’s eyes. Leif, the hero with some evil fighting destiny and Helga, witch and knight. There’s not a real story.

Pictures at an Exhibition | This is my version of a cd cover for Modest Mussorgsky’s suite “Pictures at an Exhibition” from 1874. It was composed for piano, but there are also some impressive orchestral versions. Favorite pieces are “The Hut on Fowl’s Legs (Baba-Yagá)” and “The Bogatyr Gates (in the Capital in Kiev)”. Check them out. ♥

Cut off, please | A reminiscence of the years at professional school. The good ol’ tibetan sand fox, a humming top and much nonsense. I really don’t know how the moustache got in there…

Animalistic conversation | This is an old doodle on the back of a postcard from 2009, I guess. It shows me and my best friend. We often had silly talks about how animals would have acted in all day situations. Well, as you can see, they were not that happy: grumpy giraffe and annoyed penguin.
